7 Days, 3 options for a wonderful experience!

 

This 7-day ciruclar route starting and finishing in Bagá, offers a wonderful experience riding the magnificient beauty of the area. Discover charming small villages between valleys and mountains, lovely scenery spots typical Catalan Pyrenees enjoying the wonderful traditional Catalan cuisine. We have prepared three route options. Easy level, for basic amateurs, average level for more trained amateurs, high level for experts. You will have information on the three route options, so that you can choose the one you like most... 

 

 

Easy Level. (134,26 km. 4.050 m. of cumulative altitude)

This Tour begins in Bagà, where will be the first accommodation after the transfer from the BCN airport. Depending on what time you arrive, you can have time to take a walk on the this nice town... 

The second day is the wonderfull routel!. We will visit the small mountain village, almost abandoned (Gavarrós) before reaching the Erols Refuge, already descending towards La Pobla de Lillet. In the afternoon, you can visit the beautiful town, small and narrow streets, with many romanesque buildings and amazing gardens of Antoni Gaudí.

The third day we will discover an old Romanesque monastery, before we ride to Falgars, an old sanctuary inside the mountains. Then, a nice route between paths and trails that ends to Guardiola de Berguedà. The accommodation has a little pool in summer...

The fourth day, the hardest day. We ride to Coll de la Bauma (1.573 m.), crossing nices forests, littles meadows and lovely hermitages. It's a large route, with old beech forest to Saldes, a pretty village nearby the mitical Pedraforca. You will enjoy a lot of the enviroments...

On the fifth day will enjoy a circle tour around the Serra d'Ensija. Sometimes we can found deers or roe deers riding silently by this surprising forests.... but the route show you the best views of the mitical Pedraforca, some nice farms and even a little dolmen. Will be a great day, sure!.

On the six day will return to Bagà, the place where begin this route. We across Vallcebre and some Romanesque buildings in a wonderfull slope tour: the route descends from 1.200 meters to 800 meters of accumulated level in almost 15 km... 

On the seven day a transfer will take us to the Barcelona airport

 

Average Level. (208,48 km. 7.128 m. of cumulative altitude)

The first day, as in the previous option.

The second day we will go to the Refugi del Rebost, a high mountain Refuge localted at almost 1.700 m. We will pass through impressive landscapes before arriving at the next refuge (Coll de Pal, at 1.900) to begin descends towards La Pobla de Lillet. Before, we will visit a abandoned small mountain village (Gavarrós).In the afternoon you can visit La Pobla de Lillet; this beautiful village with small and narrow streets, many romanesque elements and a nice gardens of Antoni Gaudí.

Third day. Today's stage it's as nice as hard. More than 2.000 m. of accumulated altitude. We will discover the Massif of Catllaràs. Beech forests, a chalet-refuge by Antoni Gaudí, and paths between high mountains pastures and small streams. A wonderful enviroanment before arriving a Sant Romà de la Clusa, a group of hermitage, farmhouse, lodging... at last, a fast descend to Guardiola de Berguedà.

The fourth day, a great day again. We ride up to the Coll de la Bauma and then the Coll de Torn (1.915 m.), the highest point of this route, crossing nices pine and beech forests, littles meadows and lovely shrines to Saldes, a pretty village nearby the mitical Pedraforca. The route show the north side of this mitical mountain.

On the fifth day the route goes to Josa de Cadí, a little and lovely village behind the Serra del Cadí. Then cross the mountains going to Gòsol, a pretty village where Picasso was living some months and an old castle presides over the beautiful town. But there is still a nice stretch of path to Saldes where ends the route. 

On the six day will return to Bagà, the place where begin this route. We across a incredible archaeological site, before Vallcebre and some Romanesque buildings in a wonderful slope tour. The route descends from 1.200 meters to 800 of accummulated level in almost 15 km.

High / Expert Level. (270,38 km. 9.703 m. of cumulative altitude)

The first day, as in the previous option.

The second day we will go up to the Refugi del Rebost, a high mountain refuge located at almost 1,700 meters. We will pass through amazing landscapes before arriving at the next refuge (Coll de Pal, at 1.900 m). But the highest point of the day has not yet arrived: Coll de Pal, at 2,106 meters in height (although the asphalt finishes at 2,070 meters). The views are breathtaking. On one side we will see La Cerdanya and the mountains of France. In the other, a good part of Catalonia. Then we  will begin the descent towards La Pobla de Lillet.

Before we will visit an abandoned high mountain town (Gavarrós). In the afternoon, you can visit this beautiful town, small and narrow streets, with many Romanesque elements and amazing gardens by Antoni Gaudí. At last, 40,03 km. and 1723 m. of cumulative altitudet day.

Third day: Today's stage is the most demanding. More than 2,500 meters of accumulated altitude and 71 km. We will discover the Massif del Catllaràs. Beech forests, a chalet - refuge by Antoni Gaudí, and paths between high mountain pastures and small streams... a wonderful environment before arriving at Sant Romà de la Clusa, a group of hermitage, farmhouse, lodging,..  We continue until we cross Sant Julià de Cerdanyola, a small mountain village, calm and relaxing ... where we can eat a bit, if we want to take strength for what we still have. At last, a fun descent to Guardiola de Berguedà.

The fourth day It's the highest route: up to 2,300 meters, in the middle of the Serra del Cadí, crossing several mountain pass. Maybe, the most amazing route, takes us through an old mountain railway line (to extract firewood from the forests) that ends near a high mountain chapel. The place is wonderfull. But there is still the best of the day: The route is a long ascent that goes round the mythical Pedraforca, a simbolic catalan mountain. Finally, we will reach Prat Berló, the highest point on the route. From now on, the long descent will begin (more than 20 km) to Saldes, an important tourist town next to Pedraforca. We still have 20 km of ascents and descents for precise forests and streams to the point of arrival.
