This Tour begins in Girona, where will be the first accommodation after the transfer from the Girona airport or the Girona train Station. Depending on what time will be, you can have time to take a walk on the city...  The second day starts riding along the carrilet d’Olot, an old railway converted in cycle lane. Going up easily to Sant Feliu de Pallerols, where visit this nice village and have a lunch. Once we have passed the 'Coll de Bas' we descending to the beautiful small village of Hostalets d’en Bas, and at last Les Preses, where will be the accommodation. It’s the largest stage.

We are inside the volcanic region of La Garrotxa and from this third day we will see some volcanoes. In fact, the route climbs to Santa Pau, surrounded by volcanoes, maybe the most beautiful medieval village in this area. And finally Olot, the capital city of the volcanic region.

From Olot to Besalú, the fourth day, will across the basaltic town of Sant Joan les Fonts, with a big romanesque bridge, Castellfollit de la Roca –a nice village on the top of rock cliff- and some little villages. Besalú is a magical city; medieval, with the Jewish quarter, with palaces and several noble buildings. Everyone loves it.

Come and enjoy this complete 9 day/8 night cycling tour that includes cycling part of the famous "Carrilet d’Olot" the converted railway and some of the most beautiful towns in Catalonia as the old Santa Pau, the magical Besalú, Castellfollit de la Roca, and some wonderful places to the see. The old villages near the Costa Brava as L'Escala, the pretty Sant Martí d'Empuries, Torroella de Montgrí, the amazing Pals, the lovely Peratallada...are waiting you to walk or to take a swim on the sea.  And at last, Girona, with a local walk guided tour.

The fifth day we will go from Besalú to Viladamat. Is a large stage, 53 km. We will take advantage of an interesting visit to the magical city of Besalú and also to some curiosities, such as a surprising museum of miniatures. Riding, we found some little nice villages...

 

We will soon, the sixth day, reach the beatiful and coastal town of Sant Marti d'Empuries to visit the Greek and Roman town. Then L'Escala, where we take a lunch near the sea. At last we cycling to Torroella de Montgrí through some of the most beautiful willage in the Empordà.

 

On the seventh day we will see the most nices medieval towns and villages of l'Empordà, as the lovely Pals, the pretty Peratallada, the beatiful Ullastret, where we visit an amazing Iber city. At last we will arrive to La Bisbal d'Empordà, a famous town for its extraordinary workshops and shops of pottery and ceramic. We can buy plates, pots or glasses because we will leave the bicycles and a vehicle will take us to Girona.

On the eighth day we will discover Girona. In the morning, an interesting guided tour will show us the most interesting places in the city: the Cathedral, the old quarter, the walls, the “call jueu” and several medieval places.  At midday everyone can have lunch at any place and so have free time in the afternoon to shopping, walking (the little bridges on the Onyar river are very famous) or stroll by “La Devesa”, a most important park of the city.

On the ninth day, after breakfast, a transfer will take us to the airport or to Girona train station to return to Barcelona by train after fantastic days of exploring the very best of the cycling on offer in this part of Catalonia.

Optionally, we can be offered the tour of 8 Days / 7 nights. The route is the same but without the eighth day of the original proposal, -dedicated to visit of Girona (with guide included) and with the afternoon free for shopping-, the route is reduced one day..
