What seven wonderful days!

Enjoy this is a 7 day/6 night cycling tour that includes cycling part of the famous "Carrilet d’Olot" the converted railway and some of the most beautiful towns in Catalonia as Besalú, Hostalets d’en Bas, Castellfollit de la Roca,...  and at last, Girona, with a local walk guided tour.

This Tour begins in Girona, where will be the first accommodation after the transfer from the Girona airport or the Girona train Station. Depending on what time will be, you can have time to take a walk on the city...  The second day starts riding along the carrilet d’Olot, an old railway converted in cycle lane. Going up easily to Sant Feliu de Pallerols, where visit this nice village and have a lunch. Once we have passed the 'Coll de Bas' we descending to the beautiful small village of Hostalets d’en Bas, and at last Les Preses, where will be the accommodation. It’s the largest stage.

We are inside the volcanic region of La Garrotxa and this third day we will see a volcan inside the city. Then, from Olot to Besalú, we will across the basaltic town of Sant Joan les Fonts, with a big romanesque bridge, Castellfollit de la Roca –a nice village on the top of rock cliff- and some little villages. Besalú is a magical city; medieval, with the Jewish quarter, with palaces and several noble buildings. Everyone loves it.

The fourth day we will go from Besalú to Banyoles. It is the shortest stage of all; only 20 km away. We will take advantage of an interesting visit to the city and also to some curiosities, such as a surprising museum of miniatures and wonderful prehistoric caves. Finally, in Banyoles, we will take a short bike tour around the lake.

From Banyoles, the fifth day, to Girona is a very easy riding. We will see some little and old villages as Cornellà de Terri, Rabós de Terri and Medinyà before Girona. But the route has some surprises, like a Chocolate Factory, a old Romanesque bridge and... well, it’s a surprise! And finally Girona, where we sleep into the same place that the frist day.

On the sixth day we will discover Girona. In the morning, an interesting guided walk tour will show us the most interesting places in the city: the Cathedral, the old quarter, the walls, the “call jueu” and several medieval environments.  At midday everyone can have lunch at any place and so have free time in the afternoon to shopping, walking (the little bridges on the Onyar river are very famous) or stroll by “La Devesa”, a most important park of the city.

On the seventh day, after breakfast, a transfer will take us to the airport or to Girona train station to return to Barcelona by train after fantastic days of exploring the very best of the cycling on offer in this part of Catalonia.
